Prayer and Fasting

David Miller has provided a very readable book on the topic of prayer and fasting. He starts off by explaining why prayer and fasting are such an important element in a believer's relationship with God, and then provides practical guidance on how to undertake a successful fast. I found the book to very helpful, and I'm sure that anyone who is exploring the merits of this discipline would benefit from reading it too.

Fasting - We Don't Hear Much About It Anymore

It is so sad that so many people have no idea what fasting in - oh, they may have some inkling, but do not know how important it is. We are in spiritual warfare with principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high place. If every Christian were to make fasting part of their Christian life, I am convinced our country would be different. Fasting breaks down strongholds. David Miller's book on praying and fasting is an exhaustive study of the Scriptures related to fasting.
If you have always wondered about fasting or if you want to review the principles of fasting, get this book and read it. Put it into practice. Your spiritual life will change.

Quick Read

Overall, the book was a great reminder for me to incorporate fasting into my prayer life more. I have not always been sure on exactly what, how, or even what type of fast to do. I've succeeded, I've failed... but this was a good reminder for me to hold on and eventually see greater results. I recommend this book to those who need a boost, those who are not sure what or how to begin. The only reason I have given 3 stars is because of the links to the newsletter are no longer valid. Other than that it was a good read. There's really no way to mess up when you get the understanding.
