Utter Garbage

Please, Please, Please, go to any other source for information on the AT. This book is maybe 15 pages long and reads more like an eviscerated excerpt of a thru-hiking guide. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS. I am very glad I checked it out from the lending library instead of buying it. Do not reward the "author's" laziness in putting this together.

Good thing it was free

I hate leaving bad reviews but was expecting something much more comprehensive and well written. This seems like a middle school paper. I'm not sure why else it would have been done since there are several solid books on the AT already. An extra star for being free.

high school paper as opposed to an actual book about the AT. While what he wrote was good and most of it was correct, it was too short and I don't know if the author actually hiked the entire AT. The only thing I question is in one part of the book, he mentions 'mail banks' as places where long distance hikers send supplies. I've heard of mail drops but not mail banks. It was an interesting read but this information is widely available on the web.
